The Preveiw : 3rd ODI in Pakistan's Tour of India 2012 -13
The third ODI between India and Pakistan is just he continuation of a sorry tale series for the Indian team and will mark the continuation of the way pakistan have dominated. The outset suggests it all as their is nothing in the indian dressing room else anxiety. They are nervous as they are now fearing the worse. A test series whitewash is even acceptable for the Indian public but they will never accept an ODI series whitewash. A raging nation is on the verge of losing its last consolation - "We are a good limited overs team."
This sentence was the only thing that indian masses cherished in the last year and a half. Every time Indian team is taking the field, there are big expectations but none of them are fulfilled from the last month and a half.
The same story every time, "The pitch became slow", "they bowled really well", "The things didn't click together" or "Their bowlers got more assistance from the pitch".
Now they are to face a very confident Pakistan team, high on morale at a low Kotla pitch.
The Indian batsman have bat very positively and maybe even try to charge down the wicket sometimes to disturb the lines of almost accurate Pakistani bowlers. The Pakistan attack is a double-edged sword. iether u will attack or they will. batsman msut be allowed to play their natural game. The openers, Gambhir or Rahane with Sehwag shall look to take calculated risks regularly so that the otherwise accurate Pakistani bowlers are forced to do something else. The miidle order must comprise of an inform Dhoni (if fit) and Virat Kohli with raina to follow. Yuvraj must go back to his place at lower middle order (at 6 or 7) with Jadeja and Ashwin to follow. The powerplays must see a flourish of boundaries with only two fielders outside the 30- yard circle. India should look to score 300+ as indian bowling is not strong and Pakistan batting looks a bit nervous to chase three hundred down. If India reach around anything near 300 then the game will be a treat to watch or else the tale will repeat itself.
